Dear XX,
Thank you for sending me this internet information on Lu Anke. However, I would not jump to conclusion so rashly. I somehow felt uneasy after watching the video on 卢安可---it reminds me of the criminal charges against the top-famous Michael Jackson in the USA some years ago. Whether Michael Jackson had committed the crime of pedophile remained an open question ---he was not convicted by the court but the fact that he paid out so heavily to settle the case out-of-court should raises serious questions on his involvement in this.
Compared to the case of Michael Jackson, I think that the Chinese government and the Chinese public are far more tolerant on this sort of things than the American government and American public (the so-called model of liberalism and democracy)--to the point of self-denouncing and self-criminalized.
I suspect, as I often do, that there may be a serious double-standard here-----some Chinese elite intellectuals judging and accusing China, the Chinese and Chinese culture more severely than they would judge the West, westerners and .Western cultures.
